It has been a very cheerful month for us here in Maison Aurelia. Last month we joined the Ubud Writer and Reader Festival, as their community partner, at which speakers discussed cultural preservation in Bali among other subjects.
During our time in Ubud we could not help but to wander off on our own adventure and ended up visiting I Ketut Soki, one of the first students of Arie Smit featured in "Sanur, Gateway to Inspiration".
one of the most famed Balinese painters still alive with his intriguing and colorful painting style. Ketut Soki happens to one of the very first students of Arie Smit, a Dutch-Indonesian artist known for his expressive depictions of the tropical landscapes of Bali, whom was featured in Maison Aurelia’s book "Sanur, Gateway to Inspiration". Join us on our next Ubud cultural trip
or simply check out our latest painting exhibition, featuring Japanese fabric paintings by Harumi Horiuchi and beautiful flowers painting done by local artists, Ketut Ridana.
